What an adorable couple. They've known eachother since middle school, but it was Tinder that brought them together again. . . . I wonder what the statistics are for Tinder weddings? Kyla is a dancer (and dance teacher) and Cody is her Thor ;) (No, they actually have a life size cardboard Thor in their kitchen. . . he also attended the reception. . .) Actually Cody is her real life prince, who promises to beat her at Mario Cart every chance he gets. He even constructed the ceremony altar. Oh my goodness their vows. . . Kyla & Cody wrote their own vows. (very comical, I can see why they are so perfect for eachother. . ) The Officiator was Renamarie Hicks. Beautiful, sweet woman. Annnnnd she stepped aside to let us capture the kiss .. . . because what a kiss it was. . . . . or rather 2 or three kisses. . .This wedding was such a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy day. So perfect. Every last bit of it.
The beautiful property where the ceremony and formals took place, is owned by Rhonda and Hal Gillrie. What an amazing spot for a wedding, as a photographer, I was in heaven, so many little places to take advantage of for perfect light and protection from the occasional sun. The sky was ominous all day, but the rain stayed at bay (at least until we were safely in the reception hall!! )
Kyla's beautiful princess gown was purchased at Bridal Debut in Sherwood Park, and let me tell you, the LAYERS of train and bustling needed took all of her attendants to do up. It was a stunning gown and she really did look like a princess. And I know she FELT like a princess. The way any woman on her wedding day should feel am I right? :)
Cody's suit was from EPH Apparel in Edmonton. He looked pretty handsome, don't you think? I think that old saying, "the suit really does make the man" holds true. :) I think it also makes a groom do things he normally wouldn't in front of a camera . . . . lol. . . .
The brides' beautiful hair was by Jennifer Meyn, and makeup by Jaina Maberley. She looks so stunning doesn't she???
The delicious meal at the reception was catered by Teresa's Catering. (so delicious after a long day of photographer fasting lol)
I also want to thank Ronda Sauers ( @ livejoyphotography1) for coming along and being my second photographer. Two sets of eyes are always better than one!!
AS always, below are just some of the many images that really took my breath away (or made me laugh hysterically) as I opened them up. . . please do click on the first one to make it larger and scroll through using your keyboards right arrow. I hope you enjoy! Comments are always welcome!!
